Green Tip of the Month

Who’s for ice cream?

Whether you love a Mr Whippy or an old fashioned 99, a cone containing your favourite flavour is one of the true joys of summer… and there is a good reason why you should choose a wafer over a tub!

A plastic tub, accompanied by a plastic spoon means this sunny treat has a negative impact on the environment. What better way to be sustainable than by eating everything you are served?

Why Lagoon Hull?

Lagoon Hull has the ability to transform our region, building a city where people are proud to live and love to visit.
Offering significant flood prevention and transport infrastructure benefits, the project will drive Hull towards a bright new future.

While we continue to raise Lagoon Hull’s profile and target key stakeholders, you can add your name to the ever-growing wave of support for the most transformative project in a generation here.

The games brought the UK together and encouraged people to take part in sport like never before.

Hull’s golden boy was boxer Luke Campbell who became the city’s first ever Olympic gold medalist. But how many medals did Team GB win overall?

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter channels for the answer!

Transport Changes

Work to improve one of Hull’s busiest junctions will continue to cause delays for drivers this month.
A lane closure and four-way traffic signals remain in place where Beverley Road meets Clough Road, on week nights between 7.30pm and 11pm.
The work is scheduled to be completed on Friday 19th August.

"Did you know?"

Hull City Hall is one of Hull’s best and most historic venues. It has spent more than 110 years entertaining Hullensians by hosting everything from concerts and comedy to darts and graduations.

Its organ, which remains one of the largest working instruments of its kind in the UK, was built in 1911 by Hull firm Forster and Andrews. But did you know it took a certain amount of persuasion for its installation to be approved?

The organ was considered too large for the space it was going to fill and it was only given the go ahead after a Government inquiry.
